Acts of kindness are small and simple but can have powerful impact. When I am sitting in my car on the road and see a person who is homeless asking for money, I think about that person’s life and how he or she might feel living on the street. Sometimes, I reach into my purse and give the person some money. Other times, I don’t. There are lots of reasons to give or not to give money, but that is beside the point; what matters is this: When I see someone in the car in front of me give, I am invariably inspired to give as well, and see others doing the same. On the days that I am the one that reaches into my bag to get some bills for the person on the street, I see others behind me following suit. Kindness is contagious. Let's spread it.
